The MARKS AND NUMBERS series was part of a group of acrylic paintings designed to symbolize, through illegible texts, the chaos in our world. The illegibility of exclamation and question marks and of numbers, at least among the general world population, is well-known. I used two sets of stencils to create each of the paintings in the present series, one for the math signs and another for the numbers. My deteriorated eyesight required me to use a limited palette. I still delighted in using bright colors.
